The Encyclopedia of Horror Movies
Published in Paperback by HarperCollins (paper) (March, 1987)
Authors: Phil Hardy and Tom Milne
Average review score:

The ultimate Horror-fim encyclopedia
Phil Hardy's excellent endevour to catalogue the films of, primarely, Hollywood reaches it's peak with the Horror and Science Fiction books. They both reveal a genuine interest in the media and, as an information non-digital database, these two items are the ultimate choice for collectors and horror/SF aficionados. Where Leonard Maltin says goodbye, Phil Hardy says hello. These items can be used either as a coffeetable companion, or as an encyclopedia for the serious movie-fan. There are some european films that deserves mentioning that have been omitted, but in view of the overall care in which way theese books have been presented, the omissions are readily excused. False Alarm (The Hardy Boys Casefiles, No 84)

Hi dad
I like the way that Fenton Hardy and one of his old enemies wasbrought into this book. Their was an atmosphere to this book that sent chills up my spine as I read it. Plus it was last winter when I read it. I think someone needs to get some ghost writers together and write a series about the exploits of Fenton Hardy before Frank and Joe came along. This would be a real treat.

I thought the book was great!
I think that this book was really fantastic. It was very close to reality in the way that the characters act. I also thought that the shooting close at the end was surprising.

A Fine Mess!: Verbal and Visual Gems from the Crazy World of Laurel and Hardy
Published in Hardcover by Outlet (October, 1977)
Author: Richard J. Anobile
Average review score:

A delightful romp of stills from their best routines
This book is composed of series of still shots from some of Stan and Ollie's greatest routines. The verbal comments are also listed. What's really interesting is studying their facial expressions in many of these which we tend to overlook when watching their fast paced routines on film. They were great clowns, great mimes, and even greater comedians. This book is a most welcome additional for anyone who loves classic comedy.

Flash from the Past: Classic American Tattoo Designs 1890-1965
Published in Paperback by Hardy Marks Pubns (March, 1995)
Author: Donald E. Hardy

This is the 'Old School' book to own.
This book is amazing. As an artist and graphic designer; I find the old school style of tattooing both appealing and visually interesting from a historical perspective. The media would have the public believe that tattooing has sprung up among celebrities, models and the young as some passing fad, this is not true. For true tattoo fans and tattoo artists this is the must have book. This book gives a rich history of the art of tattooing with a wide variey of 'old school masters' flash work. The flash in this book has been carefully selected and I did not see a design that did not appeal to me on some level. This is by far one of the best books on old school tattoo art. If you can get your hands on this book-Buy it!

Wow!
If you're a Hardy Boys fan, this book will make you ask, "Could it be?" Is Chet Morton actually the son of a criminal that Mr. Hardy sent to prison years ago? And does he want revenge?

Travelling around the world
Followed by heavy rain

I was amused the way Chris and Cec decided to write this book. They probably said, "well we experienced everything together so let's write together but from our own point of view". So, this they did, each taking turns in describing events along the way and what a long way they went. I found myself experiencing what they were feeling. Chris in her own zany way, self indulgent I thought at first but I later accepted her graphic gripes as trying to help the reader feel what she was feeling and this did come out in lots of amusing anecdotes and stories and confirmed to me that this was an enjoyable but difficult journey . Cec though, a different kettle of fish. He was more rounded in his descriptions, seeming more to take it in his stride but find later that it is a mere facade and there's a lot more going on underneath. His writing is comfortable and concise and feel there's a lot more he could achieve with this medium This is a good read and feel I shall enjoy the book on the second read. They were brave to do what they did. I truly appreciate all that they achieved knowing I could not have done so. They have given me the feeling that I have been on the journey with them but without the hassle. Well done!

Forget me if you can : Cliff Hardy stories

Cliff Hardy Stories - Forget Me if You Can
Another in the long line of Clind Hardy books. Set in and around the streets of Sydney, Australia. Peter Corris does an excellent job in developing and maintaining an interesting mixture of brutalness and suspense in this story based on a whistleblower betrayed. All of Corris' novels follow the same formula, one which works, and has so for many years. If you're interested in a novel that you will not be able to put down until the end then this is it. This and others in the series are a must.

Be warned the novels themselves are quite addictive, you'll be wanting to get onto the next one straight away.
